or you could write some code in any other language, unlike scratch most assembly-based languages have a frame cap higher than 30 and accept more data, plus they allow for a hell of a lot more functions.
but if you're starting out with game making, go ahead and use scratch. it's good for getting started with creativity and design, and you get to meet a lot of people. then you get banned. ;p
1. scratch games can be interpolated to look 60fps and its not a bad interpolation either (Turbowarp converter)
2. scratch games can be complex. it seems as if you havent seen a lot of the more impressive scratch games. it’s just that it’s very tedious to make good games, unlike other languages. so you’re not wrong there. plus scratch can only be 4:3 so that also sucks
3. the offline editor exists lol
